Bodacious Knives Viking Survival Sword | Handmade 26” 5160 Carbon Steel Blade | Hunting Camping Sword with Black Micarta Handle & Leather Sheath
Full Description
Introducing the Bodacious Knives Viking Survival Sword — a handcrafted blade where Norse warrior heritage meets modern forging mastery. Spanning 26 inches overall with a commanding 20-inch clip point blade, this sword is built for the hunter, the survivalist, the camper, and the serious blade collector who demands both beauty and raw performance.
Hand-forged from premium 5160 high-carbon steel — one of the most respected blade steels in the world for its exceptional toughness, flexibility, and edge retention — the blade is precision-ground and heat-treated to 55–58 HRC on the Rockwell scale. The result is a razor-sharp, battle-ready edge that handles everything from heavy chopping and brush clearing to precise game processing without complaint. At 4mm thick, the blade delivers the perfect balance of strength and agility for extended outdoor use.
Running the length of the blade is a precision-machined Fuller groove — reducing overall weight while improving swing balance and control. The clip point tip adds a sharp, precise piercing point ideal for hunting and survival tasks that demand accuracy. The overall silhouette is unmistakably inspired by traditional Viking long-blade design — sleek, purposeful, and commanding.
The 6-inch handle is crafted from premium black Micarta — one of the most durable, moisture-resistant, and grip-friendly handle materials available. Unlike wood, Micarta does not swell, crack, or warp with moisture exposure, making it the ideal choice for field use in any climate. Full tang construction runs the complete length of the handle — fusing blade and handle into one indestructible unit with zero flex and maximum power transfer.
Every Bodacious Knives Viking Survival Sword ships brand new with a premium genuine cowhide leather sheath — custom-fitted for safe blade storage, field transport, and striking display. Whether you’re a serious outdoorsman, a Viking history enthusiast, or a collector of fine handmade blades — this sword is a piece you’ll be proud to own, use, and pass on.

Care Instructions
-
01Oil the blade after every use. Apply a thin coat of mineral oil or blade lubricant across the entire blade surface after each use — including inside the Fuller groove. 5160 carbon steel is high-performance but reactive to moisture, so oiling after every use is the single most important maintenance step.
-
02Wipe clean after every use. Use a clean dry cloth to remove blood, sap, dirt, and moisture from the blade immediately after field use. Pay attention to the Fuller groove where debris can collect. Never leave organic material on the blade.
-
03Do not store long-term in the leather sheath. Leather retains moisture which causes carbon steel to rust and pit. For long-term storage, oil the blade thoroughly, wrap in a clean dry cloth or plastic bag, and store in a cool dry location separately from the sheath.
-
04Sharpen with a whetstone. Use a quality whetstone — 400 grit to restore the edge, 1000+ grit to finish to a razor edge. Maintain a consistent 15–20 degree angle. 5160 steel sharpens quickly and holds an excellent edge. A leather strop after sharpening gives a final polished edge.
-
05Clean the Fuller groove carefully. Use a soft cloth or cotton swab to clean inside the Fuller groove after field use. Moisture and debris can collect in the channel and cause rust if left uncleaned. Oil the groove after cleaning.
