Bodacious Knives Master Viking Sword | Handmade 36” 5160 Carbon Steel Longsword | Hunting Camping Survival Sword | Rosewood Handle & Leather Sheath | Collector’s Piece
Full Description
Presenting the Bodacious Knives Master Viking Sword — a handcrafted masterpiece that brings the power and majesty of the Norse warrior tradition to life in premium modern steel. At a commanding 36 inches overall with a 28-inch blade, this is not just a sword — it is a statement piece, a field tool, and a collector’s treasure all forged into one extraordinary blade.
Hand-forged from 5160 high-carbon steel — the same premium spring steel trusted by professional bladesmiths and sword makers worldwide — the blade is precision-ground and heat-treated to 55–58 HRC on the Rockwell hardness scale. The result is a double-taper clip point blade with a ferociously sharp edge, outstanding flex resistance, and the long-term edge retention demanded by serious hunters, survivalists, and outdoorsmen across the USA. Whether you are processing game deep in the wilderness, clearing a path through dense brush, or displaying this sword as a centerpiece of your collection — the blade performs and impresses on every level.
The 8-inch handle is built from premium high-quality rosewood — hand-shaped and wrapped in rich dark leather for a firm, non-slip tactical grip that looks as impressive as it feels. A precision-fitted steel cross-guard protects the hand during aggressive use, while a solid steel pommel at the base adds the rear balance weight needed for controlled, powerful swings. Full tang and hidden tang construction runs the complete length of the handle — fusing blade and handle into one unbreakable unit engineered for zero flex and maximum strength under pressure.
The overall silhouette — long tapered blade, elegant cross-guard, leather-wrapped grip, steel pommel — is a direct tribute to the historical Viking longsword design carried by Norse warriors and chieftains across centuries of legend. This is a blade that honors that heritage while being built to modern standards of craftsmanship and performance.
Every Bodacious Knives Master Viking Sword ships brand new and protected in a premium genuine cowhide leather sheath — custom-fitted to the full blade length for safe carry, secure transport, and striking display. An exceptional gift for any birthday, anniversary, Father’s Day, or Christmas — and an extraordinary addition to any serious blade collection.

Care Instructions
-
01Oil the blade after every use. Apply a thin, even coat of mineral oil or quality blade lubricant across the entire blade surface after each use. 5160 carbon steel delivers outstanding performance but is reactive to moisture — regular oiling after every use is the single most important step to prevent rust, pitting, and corrosion.
-
02Wipe the blade clean after every use. Using a clean, soft dry cloth, remove all blood, sap, dirt, moisture, and fingerprints from the blade immediately after use. Fingerprints alone contain acids that can begin surface etching on polished carbon steel — always wipe clean before storing.
-
03Do not store long-term inside the leather sheath. Leather naturally retains moisture from humidity and use — which causes carbon steel to rust and pit over time. For long-term storage, oil the blade thoroughly, wrap it in a clean dry cloth or acid-free plastic wrap, and store in a cool, dry location separately from the sheath.
-
04Sharpen with a quality whetstone. For a long blade like this Viking sword, use a large whetstone or a guided sharpening system. Start with 400 grit to restore a dull edge, progress to 800 grit, then finish with 1000–2000 grit for a razor-sharp result. Maintain a consistent 15–20 degree angle. Finish on a leather strop to polish the edge to its sharpest. 5160 steel sharpens beautifully and holds its edge exceptionally well.
-
05Care for the leather-wrapped handle. Wipe the leather handle wrap clean and dry after field use. If the wrap becomes wet, allow it to fully air dry before storing — never store with moisture trapped under the grip. Periodically apply a tiny amount of leather conditioner to the handle wrap to keep it supple and prevent cracking or hardening over time.
